The Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) credential was created in response to industry demand for a certification that allows developers to show they have the skills necessary to successfully implement functional specifications and build, deploy, and maintain Microsoft Windows® and Web applications using Microsoft Visual Studio® .NET and Web services. Achieving the MCAD credential can be a step toward earning the MCSD credential for advanced developers.

This certification will provide students with the skills necessary to develop applications using the .Net framework. Students can learn to develop Windows Based Applications or Forms and Web based applications using Visual Basic.Net, Visual Studio.net or Visual C# from the .Net framework. The certification requires students to complete two Core exams and 1 elective exam. |
This certification will allow students to demonstrate to their customers that they have the tools and skills to design and develop superior custom solutions using the Microsoft tools and technologies. Students will be able to obtain employment as Solution Developers or Programmers in the Information Technology Industry. Students can also utilize their certification to obtain college credits to advance their careers. Achieving the MCAD credential can be a step toward earning the MCSD credential for advanced developers. |

Each course of the MCAD Certification module will take about 40 hours to complete. Students can choose to take each course per week on a Monday to Friday schedule or select a flexible schedule of 8 hours per week in order to complete their certification. |
